Soul Fascination
Having a hard time quieting down that monkey mind chatter in your brain? I totally get that, because I have the same problem.
I sit down to meditate and find my mind wondering to what I need to do, should have done, or already did. It can be SO challenging to be mindful and focus on the present moment.
But I HAVE found some things that seem to help, so I wanted to share them with you.
One thing that helps me is not sitting still. Who ever said meditation was ONLY when you are sitting? That’s one way, but it might not be the best way if you’re a high energy person.
Try walking meditation. This simply involves finding a spot, preferably in nature, where you can connect with things that capture your attention.
Be sure to walk MUCH more slowly than you usually do. And pay close attention to your breathing. Make sure you are taking deep belly breaths that fill your lungs and go all the way down to just above your belly button.
While you are walking slowly and breathing deeply, look carefully around you until you see something that captures your attention. It might be the way the sunlight is streaming through the trees. Or maybe a colorful butterfly flits by.
Focus on this using all of your senses. Try to see it as a child would. Allow your Soul to connect with it by imagining you can breathe it into your heart. Cherish the beauty and fascination of the moment. You may feel a sense of timelessness and deep joy. Express gratitude for this beautiful gift the Universe has given you!
Walking in nature isn’t the only place where you can tap into Soul Fascination. Some people do it while cooking. Others feed their Soul by making art or listening to music. The point is to find time to connect mindfully with whatever makes your heart sing! And, make sure to do it often. Your Soul, just like your mind and body, needs to be nurtured on a regular basis. So, carve out some time today to begin or continue this practice. Your Soul will thank you for it!
