Every Summer Has Its Own Story
“And so with the sunshine and the great bursts of leaves growing on the trees, just as things grow in fast movies, I had that familiar conviction that life was beginning over again with the summer.”
--F. Scott Fitzgerald, The Great Gatsby
It is Summer Solstice, 2016, and I am beginning my life over again, bathed in new Light.
This is my story: Early each morning, I am mindful of the cool air moving across my face-- such a contrast to the intense heat I will experience later in the day.
I am relishing the sight of a swallowtail butterfly flitting from flower to flower, reminding me that the process of transformation is mine for the asking.
As I stream through the warm afternoon air on my bicycle, the sweet fragrance of blooming plants and trees fills my lungs.
I am capturing with my camera, the slanting rays of the early evening sun illuminating stunning colors I can experience againon cold winter afternoons when I long for summer’s warmth.
